Class Summary

Today's composite resin materials have the ability to achieve many restorative objectives, which in the past could only be attainable with ceramics. Direct resin bonding is a minimally invasive way of providing beautiful restorations as such techniques enable chairside control of color and morphology. The aim of this 2-day session is to help you reproduce natural anterior dental aesthetics with composite. The approach is a simple step-by-step protocol providing you with a real world direct resin alternative for producing outstanding results achievable within a general practice setting.

Class Overview/Schedule

Day 1

  • Lecture:
  1. Material selection, occlusion, optical properties, isolation, margin design, resin layering, finishing and polishing
  • Hands-on:
  1. Opaquing, tooth anatomy exercise, finishing & polishing


  • Lecture:
  1. Clinical management of Class III, IV and V restorations
  2. Internal whitening techniques
  • Hands-on
  1. Class IV restoration – Simplified Approach

Day 2

  • Lecture:
  1. Clinical management of direct veneer restorations and diastema closure cases
  • Hands-on:
  1. Direct Veneer restoration – Polychromatic approach


  • Lecture:
  1. Clinical management of the peg lateral and toothwear cases
  2. Resin maintenance, repair of composite restorations and fee setting
  • Hands-on:
  1. Peg lateral build up – Advanced layering technique
