  • Plan, prepare, and fabricate provisional restorations using intraoral scanning and mock-ups.

  • Master cementation protocols and integrate digital dentistry into your workflow.

Daily Course Schedule

Day 1

Lecture
  • Applying principles of smile design and analysis of proportions
  • Examination of anterior morphology
  • Importance of the mid-line “Critical Zone”
  • Material selection – which composites to choose and where to use them
  • Understanding the components of the polychromatic incisal edge
  • Utilizing hue, value, and chroma to determine color
  • The application of the palatal stent
  • Using tints and opaquers to mimic nature
Hands-on
  • Single shade composite veneers on #8 and 9 (#7 and 10 if time)
  • Class IV fracture resolution on #8 (#9 if time)
Day 2

Lecture
  • Ceramic material selection– rationale and scientific evidence
  • Planning cases – The Intra-oral Mock-up vs. Lab design
  • Preparation and provisionalization techniques
  • Laboratory Communication – what information is needed for predictability
  • Cementation protocols
  • The impact of digital dentistry on direct and indirect workflow
  • Wrap-up

  • Planning, preparation, scanning and fabrication provisionals for anterior veneers and crowns on Teeth #6-11

Meet the Instructor

Arthur Volker, DDS, MSEd, FAGD

Dr. Volker graduated from the Columbia University School of Dental and Oral Surgery. He is the Chairman of the New Dentist Committee and a member of the Continuing Education Committee for the New York State Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Volker is a Diplomate of the World Congress of Minimally Invasive Dentistry and is a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry and the American College of Dentists. He was a clinical attending at the Coler-Goldwater Specialty Hospital and Nursing Facility on Roosevelt Island, and is in private practice in New York, with an emphasis on cosmetic and minimally invasive dentistry. Dr. Volker has published articles and lectures nationally and internationally on such topics as cosmetic dentistry, minimally invasive dentistry, dental materials, and dental implants.
