In two days, you will learn how to break down the form and color of a central incisor, lateral incisor, and canine in a systematic way. You will learn how to seamlessly restore a Class IV, build up a peg lateral, and direct veneer a canine.

After taking this course you will have learned how to:

  • Color map and select the correct composite type and shade for artistic layering.
  • Properly reproduce line angles, point angles, embrasures, macro, and micro surface texture.
  • Compose a natural morphological and chromatic depiction of the most important teeth in the smile frame.

CLASS OVERVIEW/SCHEDULE

Day 1 Lecture:

  • Learning to see tooth anatomy three-dimensionally.
  • Breaking down the smile frame – Learning landmarks that matter for composite sculpturing.
  • The Class IV Restoration – Histomorphological considerations, material selection, and layering.
  • Pre-restorative orthodontic considerations for optimal anterior esthetic results when closing diastemas and building up peg laterals.
  • The Peg Lateral Build-Up – Histomorphological considerations, material selection, and layering.

Day 1 Hands-on:

  • Restoring an Upper Central Incisor – The Class IV Restoration

Day 2 Lecture:

  • Restoring an Upper Canine – Histomorphological and occlusion considerations, material selection, and layering.
  • The Direct-Indirect Veneer Technique

Day 2 Hands-on:

  • The Peg Lateral Build-Up – A Polychromatic Approach
  • Restoring an Upper Canine – The Direct-Indirect Veneer
  • Detailed finishing and polishing of Central Incisor, Lateral Incisor, and Canine.
  • Achieving ideal a) Width-length ratios, b) Incisal edge position, c) Point angles, d) Line angles, e) Macrotexture, and f) Microtexture.
  • Polishing restorations to an enamel-like appearance.
