This hands-on course will immerse attendees into the world of composite resins!

This two-day course focuses on achieving aesthetic excellence in anterior teeth restorations. The class focuses on practical content, including simulating daily challenges and learning to “replicate nature.” Dr. Alves will share his daily clinical routine and demonstrate how to transform smiles in most cases without wear, just additions.

Day 1 Lecture

1. Anatomy of anterior teeth – morphology (transitional and incisal line angles, embrasures, developmental grooves, light-reflected areas, and light-deflected areas)
2. Important factors for the longevity of composite veneers
3. Finishing and Polishing protocol (macrotexture and microtexture)
4. Optical and mechanical principles of composite resins
5. Planning our cases
6. Color selection, light, opacity, and translucency
7. Masking dark substrates
8. Use of opaques and tints

Day 1 Hands-on

1. The direct veneer on a worn incisor – upper central incisor (reproducing halos, translucency, incisal effects, lifelike results)
2. Direct Veneer on a dark tooth – (using opaques and tints to create depth and details)

Day 2 Lecture

1. Advanced clinical cases
2. Closing diastemas and peg laterals
3. Cervical management to achieve periodontal health
4. Maintaining the shine and smoothness of composite resins
5. Importance of canine guidance

Day 2 Hands-on

• Restoring a peg lateral tooth – reproducing nature
• The direct veneer on an upper canine – occlusion considerations
